I have to admit to having been 'stopped' myself, momac, last Saturday night (2.30 ish Sunday morning), after my 63rd birthday night's 'sesh' !
We too were made to sit on the pavement, hands behind head. I got a fine, payable within 20 days, for driving over the limit and trying to escape up a side-road. They trappedus tothe Front and to the rear. They didn't shoot us, though!

Posted by: tonker (23499) View tonker's page It was funny! They let the least drunk of us, Slug, take over driving through town (even though he too was over the limit, not as much as me and my mate!). When we got round the corner, near the hospital, we stopped and was changing back over, when they came round behind us. They'd followed us, the buggers! Another telling off, bundled back into the car, and sent on our merry way!

He thinks its a joke
Posted by: tonker (23504) View tonker's page Actually, lectriclegs, it's hilarious. Something to look back on and laugh about! And, what's more, the possibility of me "causing someone's death" is a lot lower than a lot of drivers who never have a drink!
BB, we often have a few drinks and drive home when we're o'er theer. The Mossos are, more often than not, drinking at the same places! But it's not like here. It's 'Campo' (countryside) and drinking and driving is generally ignored on the campo. Although, this incident was a one-off. We (well, I) left the campo and drove through town to drop one of the lads off on the bridge. Wrong move!
Never mind. Only a €600 fine to pay. No harm done!
